Redefining "feminism" until it just means "legs"
I've started this blog as a place to write, but I have a lot of thoughts as well. I'm tired of the backtracking of feminism based on the concept that it's bad for our kids. Some of my writing will have nice, researched citations, and a lot of it will just be me having a rant. I had worried I wouldn't have much to say, but now that my boyfriends mother has scored a free subscription to "maxim" that I can read on the toilet, I know that I'll have new fodder on a monthly basis. Please feel free to correct my grammar in the comments.

The veg wedding conundrum
Why is it that in the most culinarily diverse city in the world the combination of vegetarian wedding and traditional catering hall cannot be acheived? I can't pay 100 a head for chicken francais, my immediate family is entirely vegetarian.

Shootings
I keep reading about this sihk shooting and the line that's in every story : "people think they are muslim" repeatedly fails to also point out, that its not ok to shoot muslims either! Unless they are shooting you. You just can't practice "proactiv" vigilante justice. Its not a thing.
Also, I know I've been very anti government regulation as of late, but I'm thinking, it may be time for some kind of gun or weapons regulation. I imagine that most whackos that are on the brink, suspect their will be some ban soon and are stocking up. So maybe this needs to happen before every maniac out there has an arsenal.

Thinking about taxes and the economy
Every gets their panties in a twist about government spending. I started thinking about this and thought, maybe the feds should cut taxes in half and spend less on crazy things. Less road resurfacing, less "beautification". Flat out, let the states do the taxing and see how the population shifts. If they made it a "surprise" the states would need at least a year to alter their own tax codes in order to continue to bleed you dry. I'm not saying no more government, no more taxes. I'm just saying stop renaming bridges. When people are poor as shit they learn to improvise until times are better. Let's make the government do this. If they lower the speed limits to accomodate the shitty recession infrastructure, they'll make up the funds by ticketing speeders in no time. Let's just get them to try it out. Instead of paying overpriced contractors to use shitty chemicals to landscape govt buildings, let the public garden there or something.

Friggin Liberty maaannnn
Just heard on tv that the elderly will no longer be strip searched at NYC airports. I don't know if anyone should be strip searched. I'm going to start taking trains or flying lessons. I think everyone should take a few steps towards promoting their liberty. If we have air marshals why do we need strip searches?

Melios 2020
I'm pretty sure I'm running as an independent in 2020. For President that is. 2020 is the first year I will be old enough to be president. I could probably go and do something like, run for some other political office before then, but given the current state of affairs, I'd rather just spend my free time, learning about issues and the job, rather than worrying about my next re-election campaign. I have ideas already, but in 8 years, I could change my mind. I'm not going to put up with the other guys trying to play it as "flip flopping", I'll be up front, I don't know everything, so I may learn something that will cause me to change my mind. There is nothing wrong with that. I also won't end any of my attack ads with "I approved this message" I won't do it. I will also be our first president with absolutely NO religious affiliation. Simply put, what you do in the afterlife is your business. I believe in Darwinism. Adults should be allowed to do what they feel is best for themselves. It's about personal responsibility, and if you wipe yourself out of the gene pool, there is no shame in that. I'm pro-choice ,pro-gay and pro-pot. I am for vocational education in high school. I am also for technical education becoming part of the standard curriculum. American children in the modern age should not leave school without knowing how the inside of a computer works. I have 8 years to have other positions, but this is what I am starting with. Please promote my candidacy. Thank you.

Getting depressed about Chase Bank.
Chase reporting a 2 billion dollar loss this week has me thinking about Paul Krugman who is probably the most legitimate economist talking right now. Recovery apparently isn't happening and we are now clearly in a depression. Why?look at your cellphones! Yes I am posting this from mine but think about it! You spend a few hundred dollars perhaps on a device made in china and then send the company you bought it from 100 dollars or so a month for "service" that mostly goes into reseach and developement and expansion, all of which is happening overseas. If we all didn't love having all the powers of the internet at our fingers I'd suggest we all toss em out the window but that isn't going to happen so here is my advice. First, find the cheapest cellphone plan available. My sister pays 50 a month for what I pay 100 for and it suits her needs just fine! I'm switching next payday. Beyond that, if every american stopped, looked at what they were buying and even just once in a while purchased an american made good instead we could keep just a heck of a lot more money in the us economy. We can't just be mindless consumers anymore because our entire way of life is at stake. The politicians are corrupt and not one of them is going to take any real positve steps in saving our quality of life. Power is a terrible thing and it changes peoplke. The only hope is if we save ourselves! Vote with your dollars and stop throwing your hard earned money away.
